During 2010-15, Scottish Water is expected to invest more than £2.5 billion in its assets. The investment goes towards particular outputs to improve drinking water quality and the environment, provide cleaner beaches and rivers, provide better service for customers and create a more sustainable water industry.

It is important to customers that this money is spent efficiently and achieves the outcomes required by Ministers. We therefore monitor progress in this area very closely and report each year on Scottish Water’s investment performance.

We are also part of the Output Monitoring Group. This group monitors Scottish Water’s progress in delivering ministerial objectives for the industry. More information about the Output Monitoring Group can be found on the Scottish Government's website (opens in a new window).
